Common questions

Nothing loads. Lookout needs your location. Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Lookout and choose "While Using the App".

Does it work outside the United States? Lookout works in every U.S. state. Forecasts and warnings come from the U.S. National Weather Service, so it covers the United States only.

There's no scanner feed for my county. Scanner audio is shared by volunteers on Broadcastify and OpenMHz, and some counties don't have a public feed. The Scanner tab also links to a web search for other feeds near you.

Local news shows few stories. Lookout lists recent stories that name your town, or your county and state. Small towns may have only a few. The Google News links below the list search more widely.

I didn't get a background alert. Background warning alerts (Lookout Pro) run when iOS lets the app wake up, usually every 15 minutes or more, and less often in Low Power Mode. They are a helper, not an official warning system. Keep Emergency Alerts turned on in your iPhone's Settings.

Why are only a few cameras shown? The free version shows the nearest 3. Lookout Pro shows every public camera nearby.

How do I cancel Lookout Pro? Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Lookout. Or in the app: More > Manage subscription.

I bought Pro but it isn't showing. In the app, tap More > Restore purchases while signed in with the same Apple ID.

Safety

Use Drive mode only at a glance, mounted, and never type while driving. Follow official instructions from the National Weather Service and local authorities.
